SUPPORTING OUR CATS
Supporting our Cats
We rely on the generosity of people who support our mission! Making a donation to our cause directly supports our ability to save more cats in our community. We are limited by space and funding to vet additional cats, so your contributions help us be more able to take in new cats into our rescue. There are so many options for you to support our mission - keep on reading to learn more!
DONATION FREQUENCY
We appreciate any and all donations we receive! We want you to support our mission in a way that is sustainable and meaningful for you. As such, we have a number of options available:
One-time: Feel free to send in a donation whenever you can.
Monthly: Becoming a monthly donor makes you an integral part of our rescue’s mission!
Quarterly: Select a donation amount for each quarter.
Annually: Making an annual gift to FHAR can be a wonderful gift for someone in your life, a tribute/memorial to a loved one or lost pet, or part of your annual giving tradition.
MEMORIAL/TRIBUTE GIFTS
Through our GiveButter pages, you can make donations in memory of someone in your life or in honor of someone presently! This can be anyone - human or animal! We would love to hear about your special someone, and your gift goes directly to helping save lives!
Great occasions for these donations are:
A tribute gift to remember a lost loved one or pet on an anniversary
A consolation gift to a loved one who just lost a pet or loved one
A present for an animal lover in your life on their birthday
A wedding or anniversary gift
FUND OPTIONS
We want you to donate to causes you feel most passionate about! When you donate, you can designate your money to go towards specific parts of our rescue:
General Rescue Fund - This fund goes towards general operating expenses of FHAR. This might include purchasing litter, food, toys, bottles, formula, and other essential everyday items we use to support the cats in our care.
Medical Fund - This is a fund specifically for supporting cats within our rescue who have additional medical needs. For instance, sometimes kittens are born with issues like hernias that need to be corrected before they can be adopted. Or, a cat has substantial dental disease and needs a dental cleaning before adoption. Unexpected medical expenses can quickly exhaust our resources and limit our ability to take new cats into our census, so supporting our medical fund always makes an impact.
Spay + Neuter - We prioritize spaying and neutering all cats in our care. It is one of the ways we directly address the cat overpopulation issue we face not only in our community but around the world. Contributing to this fund helps us continue to prioritize this surgery that not only improves the quality of life for our animals, but also guarantees that they will not bring additional kittens into the world that may not have what they need to live a peaceful life.
Little Families - We routinely care for moms and their babies, as well as orphaned kittens. We take pregnant cats in and support them through pregnancy and through their spay, once their kittens have been weaned and are of adoption age. Raising kittens takes a significant amount of resources, and we usually don’t know how many kittens our pregnant moms will have. We would love for you to sponsor a family!
All gifts are considered tax deductible. We provide an email receipt with your donation, for tax reporting purposes.
